Josh Gray Trio is made up of Josh Gray (Guitar) Ben Anderson (Bass) and James Marelich (Drums) their repertoire consists of a mix of Josh’s original compositions and well known Jazz standards.

Josh Gray


Josh Gray is a Perth based guitarist and upright bass player. Currently studying at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in Jazz. Currently, Josh plays in his Guitar Trio mixing original compositions and well known jazz standards. He draws influences from players such as, George Benson, Wes Montgomery, Brent Mason to name a few.

James Marelich

James Marelich is a 22 year old drummer from the eastern hills of Perth and has been playing music since before he can remember. Since 2014 he has enjoyed performing a range of musical styles at many venues around Perth with acts such as Mal de Mer, The Liquid Project, Baka Gaijin, Porch and others. His main musical influences include Frank Zappa, Vinnie Coliuta, Bill Ward, Steely Dan, Daniel Susnjar, Kendrick Lamar, John Coltrane, Roy Haynes, Tony Williams, Jeff Porcaro.

Ben Anderson

Ben Anderson is a jazz Bassist currently in his final year of study at WAAPA. Having completed his Diploma in 2018, he went into the Bachelor of Jazz performance in 2019. he has been playing double bass for 12 years and has received numerous accolades in both classical and jazz. Gaining experience in his High school orchestra, High school Big band and high school small group, Ben has constantly achieved honourable mentions In the WA schools senior orchestral festival and the WA schools jazz festival. He has played in the Into the woods musical and Atomic, The New Rock Musical.
